  ২৬) সূরা আশ-শো’আরা ( মক্কায় অবতীর্ণ ), আয়াত সংখাঃ ২২৭                                                    
 
 
  بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
  শুরু করছি আল্লাহর নামে যিনি পরম করুণাময়, অতি দয়ালু।
 
  طسم  (1
ত্বা, সীন, মীম।  
Tâ­Sîn­Mîm. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur’ân, and none but Allâh (Alone) knows their meanings.]  
 
  تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْكِتَابِ الْمُبِينِ  (2
এগুলো সুস্পষ্ট কিতাবের আয়াত।  
These are the Verses of the manifest Book [this Qur’ân, which was promised by Allâh in the Taurât (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel), makes things clear].  
 
  لَعَلَّكَ بَاخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُوا مُؤْمِنِينَ  (3
তারা বিশ্বাস করে না বলে আপনি হয়তো মর্মব্যথায় আত্নঘাতী হবেন।  
It may be that you (O Muhammad SAW) are going to kill yourself with grief, that they do not become believers [in your Risalah (Messengership) and in your Message of Islâmic Monotheism].  
 
  إِن نَّشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِم مِّن السَّمَاء آيَةً فَظَلَّتْ أَعْنَاقُهُمْ لَهَا خَاضِعِينَ  (4
আমি যদি ইচ্ছা করি, তবে আকাশ থেকে তাদের কাছে কোন নিদর্শন নাযিল করতে পারি। অতঃপর তারা এর সামনে নত হয়ে যাবে।  
If We will, We could send down to them from the heaven a sign, to which they would bend their necks in humility.  
 
  وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مِّنَ الرَّحْمَنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ  (5
যখনই তাদের কাছে রহমান এর কোন নতুন উপদেশ আসে, তখনই তারা তা থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয়।  
And never comes there unto them a Reminder as a recent revelation from the Most Beneficent (Allâh), but they turn away therefrom.  
 
  فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ أَنبَاء مَا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُون  (6
অতএব তারা তো মিথ্যারোপ করেছেই; সুতরাং যে বিষয় নিয়ে তারা ঠাট্টা-বিদ্রুপ করত, তার যথার্থ স্বরূপ শীঘ্রই তাদের কাছে পৌছবে।  
So they have indeed denied (the truth ­ this Qur’ân), then the news of what they mocked at, will come to them.  
 
  أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا إِلَى الْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِيمٍ  (7
তারা কি ভুপৃষ্ঠের প্রতি দৃষ্টিপাত করে না? আমি তাতে সর্বপ্রকার বিশেষ-বস্তু কত উদগত করেছি।  
Do they not observe the earth, how much of every good kind We cause to grow therein?  
 
  إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ  (8
নিশ্চয় এতে নিদর্শন আছে, কিন্তু তাদের অধিকাংশই বিশ্বাসী নয়।  
Verily, in this is an Ayâh (proof or sign), yet most of them (polytheists, pagans, etc., who do not believe in Resurrection) are not believers.  
 
  وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ  (9
আপনার পালনকর্তা তো পরাক্রমশালী পরম দয়ালু।  
And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful.  
 
  وَإِذْ نَادَى رَبُّكَ مُوسَى أَنِ ائْتِ الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ  (10
যখন আপনার পালনকর্তা মূসাকে ডেকে বললেনঃ তুমি পাপিষ্ঠ সম্প্রদায়ের নিকট যাও;  
And (remember) when your Lord called Mûsa (Moses) (saying): ”Go to the people who are Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrong-doing),  
 
  قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ  (11
ফেরাউনের সম্প্রদায়ের নিকট; তারা কি ভয় করে না?  
The people of Fir’aun (Pharaoh). Will they not fear Allâh and become righteous?”  
 
  قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ  (12
সে বলল, হে আমার পালনকর্তা, আমার আশংকা হচ্ছে যে, তারা আমাকে মিথ্যাবাদী বলে দেবে।  
He said: ”My Lord! Verily, I fear that they will belie me,  
 
  وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِي وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِي فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَى هَارُونَ  (13
এবং আমার মন হতবল হয়ে পড়ে এবং আমার জিহবা অচল হয়ে যায়। সুতরাং হারুনের কাছে বার্তা প্রেরণ করুন।  
”And my breast straitens, and my tongue expresses not well. So send for Hârûn (Aaron) (to come along with me).  
 
  وَلَهُمْ عَلَيَّ ذَنبٌ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ  (14
আমার বিরুদ্ধে তাদের অভিযোগ আছে। অতএব আমি আশংকা করি যে, তারা আমাকে হত্যা করবে।  
”And they have a charge of crime against me, and I fear they will kill me.”  
 
  قَالَ كَلَّا فَاذْهَبَا بِآيَاتِنَا إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ  (15
আল্লাহ বলেন, কখনই নয় তোমরা উভয়ে যাও আমার নিদর্শনাবলী নিয়ে। আমি তোমাদের সাথে থেকে শোনব।  
Allâh said: ”Nay! Go you both with Our Signs. Verily! We shall be with you, listening.  
 
  فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَا إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ  (16
অতএব তোমরা ফেরআউনের কাছে যাও এবং বল, আমরা বিশ্বজগতের পালনকর্তার রসূল।  
”And when you both come to Fir’aun (Pharaoh), say: ’We are the Messengers of the Lord of the ’Alamîn (mankind, jinns and all that exists),  
 
  أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ  (17
যাতে তুমি বনী-ইসরাঈলকে আমাদের সাথে যেতে দাও।  
”So allow the Children of Israel to go with us.’ ”  
 
  قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ  (18
ফেরাউন বলল, আমরা কি তোমাকে শিশু অবস্থায় আমাদের মধ্যে লালন-পালন করিনি? এবং তুমি আমাদের মধ্যে জীবনের বহু বছর কাটিয়েছ।  
[Fir’aun (Pharaoh)] said [to Mûsa (Moses)]: ”Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you did dwell many years of your life with us.  
 
  وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ الَّتِي فَعَلْتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ  (19
তুমি সেই-তোমরা অপরাধ যা করবার করেছ। তুমি হলে কৃতঘ্ন।  
”And you did your deed, which you did (i.e. the crime of killing a man). And you are one of the ingrates.”  
 
  قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَا إِذًا وَأَنَا مِنَ الضَّالِّينَ  (20
মূসা বলল, আমি সে অপরাধ তখন করেছি, যখন আমি ভ্রান্ত ছিলাম।  
Mûsa (Moses) said: ”I did it then, when I was an ignorant (as regards my Lord and His Message).  
 
  فَفَرَرْتُ مِنكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِي رَبِّي حُكْمًا وَجَعَلَنِي مِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ  (21
অতঃপর আমি ভীত হয়ে তোমাদের কাছ থেকে পলায়ন করলাম। এরপর আমার পালনকর্তা আমাকে প্রজ্ঞা দান করেছেন এবং আমাকে পয়গম্বর করেছেন।  
”So I fled from you when I feared you. But my Lord has granted me Hukman (i.e. religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood), and appointed me as one of the Messengers.  
 
  وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٌ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَيَّ أَنْ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ  (22
আমার প্রতি তোমার যে অনুগ্রহের কথা বলছ, তা এই যে, তুমি বনী-ইসলাঈলকে গোলাম বানিয়ে রেখেছ।  
”And this is the past favour with which you reproach me, that you have enslaved the Children of Israel.”  
 
  قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ  (23
ফেরাউন বলল, বিশ্বজগতের পালনকর্তা আবার কি?  
Fir’aun (Pharaoh) said: ”And what is the Lord of the ’Alamîn (mankind, jinns and all that exists)?”  
 
  قَالَ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ  (24
মূসা বলল, তিনি নভোমন্ডল, ভূমন্ডল ও এতদুভয়ের মধ্যবর্তী সবকিছুর পালনকর্তা যদি তোমরা বিশ্বাসী হও।  
Mûsa (Moses) said: ”Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, if you seek to be convinced with certainty.”  
 
  قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُ أَلَا تَسْتَمِعُونَ  (25
ফেরাউন তার পরিষদবর্গকে বলল, তোমরা কি শুনছ না?  
Fir’aun (Pharaoh) said to those around: ”Do you not hear (what he says)?”  
 
  قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ آبَائِكُمُ الْأَوَّلِينَ  (26
মূসা বলল, তিনি তোমাদের পালনকর্তা এবং তোমাদের পূর্ববর্তীদেরও পালনকর্তা।  
Mûsa (Moses) said: ”Your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers!”  
 
  قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ الَّذِي أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُونٌ  (27
ফেরাউন বলল, তোমাদের প্রতি প্রেরিত তোমাদের রসূলটি নিশ্চয়ই বদ্ধ পাগল।  
Fir’aun (Pharaoh) said: ”Verily, your Messenger who has been sent to you is a madman!”  
 
  قَالَ رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ  (28
মূসা বলল, তিনি পূর্ব, পশ্চিম ও এতদুভয়ের মধ্যবর্তী সব কিছুর পালনকর্তা, যদি তোমরা বোঝ।  
Mûsa (Moses) said: ”Lord of the east and the west, and all that is between them, if you did but understand!”  
 
  قَالَ لَئِنِ اتَّخَذْتَ إِلَهًا غَيْرِي لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ الْمَسْجُونِينَ  (29
ফেরাউন বলল, তুমি যদি আমার পরিবর্তে অন্যকে উপাস্যরূপে গ্রহণ কর তবে আমি অবশ্যই তোমাকে কারাগারে নিক্ষেপ করব।  
Fir’aun (Pharaoh) said: ”If you choose an ilâh (god) other than me, I will certainly put you among the prisoners.”  
 
  قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَيْءٍ مُّبِينٍ  (30
মূসা বলল, আমি তোমার কাছে কোন স্পষ্ট বিষয় নিয়ে আগমন করলেও কি?  
Mûsa (Moses) said: ”Even if I bring you something manifest (and convincing)?”  
 
  قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ  (31
ফেরাউন বলল, তুমি সত্যবাদী হলে তা উপস্থিত কর।  
Fir’aun (Pharaoh) said: ”Bring it forth then, if you are of the truthful!”  
 
  فَأَلْقَى عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ  (32
অতঃপর তিনি লাঠি নিক্ষেপ করলে মুহূর্তের মধ্যে তা সুস্পষ্ট অজগর হয়ে গেল।  
So [Mûsa (Moses)] threw his stick, and behold, it was a serpent, manifest.  
 
  وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ بَيْضَاء لِلنَّاظِرِينَ  (33
আর তিনি তার হাত বের করলেন, তৎক্ষণাৎ তা দর্শকদের কাছে সুশুভ্র প্রতিভাত হলো।  
And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders!  
 
  قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُ إِنَّ هَذَا لَسَاحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ  (34
ফেরাউন তার পরিষদবর্গকে বলল, নিশ্চয় এ একজন সুদক্ষ জাদুকর।  
[Fir’aun (Pharaoh)] said to the chiefs around him: ”Verily! This is indeed a well-versed sorcerer.  
 
  يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ  (35
সে তার জাদু বলে তোমাদেরকে তোমাদের দেশ থেকে বহিস্কার করতে চায়। অতএব তোমাদের মত কি?  
”He wants to drive you out of your land by his sorcery, then what is it your counsel, and what do you command?”  
 
  قَالُوا أَرْجِهِ وَأَخَاهُ وَابْعَثْ فِي الْمَدَائِنِ حَاشِرِينَ  (36
তারা বলল, তাকে ও তার ভাইকে কিছু অবকাশ দিন এবং শহরে শহরে ঘোষক প্রেরণ করুন।  
They said: ”Put him off and his brother (for a while), and send callers to the cities;  
 
  يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍ  (37
তারা যেন আপনার কাছে প্রত্যেকটি দক্ষ জাদুকর কে উপস্থিত করে।  
”To bring up to you every well-versed sorcerer.”  
 
  فَجُمِعَ السَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَاتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ  (38
অতঃপর এক নির্দিষ্ট দিনে জাদুকরদেরকে একত্রিত করা হল।  
So the sorcerers were assembled at a fixed time on a day appointed.  
 
  وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ  (39
এবং জনগণের মধ্যে ঘোষণা করা হল, তোমরাও সমবেত হও।  
And it was said to the people: ”Are you (too) going to assemble?  
 
  لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ السَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُوا هُمُ الْغَالِبِينَ  (40
যাতে আমরা জাদুকরদের অনুসরণ করতে পারি-যদি তারাই বিজয়ী হয়।  
”That we may follow the sorcerers [who were on Fir’aun’s (Pharaoh) religion of disbelief] if they are the winners.”  
 
  فَلَمَّا جَاء السَّحَرَةُ قَالُوا لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ الْغَالِبِينَ  (41
যখন যাদুকররা আগমণ করল, তখন ফেরআউনকে বলল, যদি আমরা বিজয়ী হই, তবে আমরা পুরস্কার পাব তো?  
So when the sorcerers arrived, they said to Fir’aun (Pharaoh): ”Will there surely be a reward for us if we are the winners?”  
 
  قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّمِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ  (42
ফেরাউন বলল, হঁ্যা এবং তখন তোমরা আমার নৈকট্যশীলদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হবে।  
He said: ”Yes, and you shall then verily be of those brought near (to myself).”  
 
  قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَى أَلْقُوا مَا أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ  (43
মূসা (আঃ) তাদেরকে বললেন, নিক্ষেপ কর তোমরা যা নিক্ষেপ করবে।  
Mûsa (Moses) said to them: ”Throw what you are going to throw!”  
 
  فَأَلْقَوْا حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوا بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ الْغَالِبُونَ  (44
অতঃপর তারা তাদের রশি ও লাঠি নিক্ষেপ করল এবং বলল, ফেরাউনের ইযযতের কসম, আমরাই বিজয়ী হব।  
So they threw their ropes and their sticks, and said: ”By the might of Fir’aun (Pharaoh), it is we who will certainly win!”  
 
  فَأَلْقَى مُوسَى عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ  (45
অতঃপর মূসা তাঁর লাঠি নিক্ষেপ করল, হঠাৎ তা তাদের অলীক কীর্তিগুলোকে গ্রাস করতে লাগল।  
Then Mûsa (Moses) threw his stick, and behold, it swallowed up all the falsehoods which they showed!  
 
  فَأُلْقِيَ السَّحَرَةُ سَاجِدِينَ  (46
তখন জাদুকররা সেজদায় নত হয়ে গেল।  
And the sorcerers fell down prostrate.  
 
  قَالُوا آمَنَّا بِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ  (47
তারা বলল, আমরা রাব্বুল আলামীনের প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করলাম।  
Saying: ”We believe in the Lord of the ’Alamîn (mankind, jinns and all that exists).  
 
  رَبِّ مُوسَى وَهَارُونَ  (48
যিনি মূসা ও হারুনের রব।  
”The Lord of Mûsa (Moses) and Hârûn (Aaron).”  
 
  قَالَ آمَنتُمْ لَهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ آذَنَ لَكُمْ إِنَّهُ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ الَّذِي عَلَّمَكُمُ السِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَافٍ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ  (49
ফেরাউন বলল, আমার অনুমতি দানের পূর্বেই তোমরা কি তাকে মেনে নিলে? নিশ্চয় সে তোমাদের প্রধান, যে তোমাদেরকে জাদু শিক্ষা দিয়েছে। শীঘ্রই তোমরা পরিণাম জানতে পারবে। আমি অবশ্যই তোমাদের হাত ও পা বিপরীত দিক থেকে কর্তন করব। এবং তোমাদের সবাইকে শূলে চড়াব।  
[Fir’aun (Pharaoh)] said: ”You have believed in him before I give you leave. Surely, he indeed is your chief, who has taught you magic! So verily, you shall come to know. Verily, I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will crucify you all.”  
 
  قَالُوا لَا ضَيْرَ إِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ  (50
তারা বলল, কোন ক্ষতি নেই। আমরা আমাদের পালনকর্তার কাছে প্রত্যাবর্তন করব।  
They said: ”No harm! Surely, to our Lord (Allâh) we are to return;  
 
  إِنَّا نَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَايَانَا أَن كُنَّا أَوَّلَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ  (51
আমরা আশা করি, আমাদের পালনকর্তা আমাদের ক্রটি-বিচ্যুতি মার্জনা করবেন। কারণ, আমরা বিশ্বাস স্থাপনকারীদের মধ্যে অগ্রণী।  
”Verily! We really hope that our Lord will forgive us our sins, as we are the first of the believers [in Mûsa (Moses) and in the Monotheism which he has brought from Allâh].”  
 
  وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَى مُوسَى أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِي إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ  (52
আমি মূসাকে আদেশ করলাম যে, আমার বান্দাদেরকে নিয়ে রাত্রিযোগে বের হয়ে যাও, নিশ্চয় তোমাদের পশ্চাদ্ধাবন করা হবে।  
And We inspired Mûsa (Moses), saying: ”Take away My slaves by night, verily, you will be pursued.”  
 
  فَأَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِي الْمَدَائِنِ حَاشِرِينَ  (53
অতঃপর ফেরাউন শহরে শহরে সংগ্রাহকদেরকে প্রেরণ করল,  
Then Fir’aun (Pharaoh) sent callers to (all) the cities.  
 
  إِنَّ هَؤُلَاء لَشِرْذِمَةٌ قَلِيلُونَ  (54
নিশ্চয় এরা (বনী-ইসরাঈলরা) ক্ষুদ্র একটি দল।  
(Saying): ”Verily! These indeed are but a small band.  
 
  وَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَائِظُونَ  (55
এবং তারা আমাদের ক্রোধের উদ্রেক করেছে।  
”And verily, they have done what has enraged us;  
 
  وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَاذِرُونَ  (56
এবং আমরা সবাই সদা শংকিত।  
”But we are host all assembled, amply fore-warned.”  
 
  فَأَخْرَجْنَاهُم مِّن جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ  (57
অতঃপর আমি ফেরআউনের দলকে তাদের বাগ-বাগিচা ও ঝর্ণাসমূহ থেকে বহিষ্কার করলাম।  
So, We expelled them from gardens and springs,  
 
  وَكُنُوزٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ  (58
এবং ধন-ভান্ডার ও মনোরম স্থানসমূহ থেকে।  
Treasures, and every kind of honourable place.  
 
  كَذَلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَاهَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ  (59
এরূপই হয়েছিল এবং বনী-ইসলাঈলকে করে দিলাম এসবের মালিক।  
Thus [We turned them (Pharaoh’s people) out] and We caused the Children of Israel to inherit them.  
 
  فَأَتْبَعُوهُم مُّشْرِقِينَ  (60
অতঃপর সুর্যোদয়ের সময় তারা তাদের পশ্চাদ্ধাবন করল।  
So they pursued them at sunrise.  
 
  فَلَمَّا تَرَاءى الْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَابُ مُوسَى إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ  (61
যখন উভয় দল পরস্পরকে দেখল, তখন মূসার সঙ্গীরা বলল, আমরা যে ধরা পড়ে গেলাম।  
And when the two hosts saw each other, the companions of Mûsa (Moses) said: ”We are sure to be overtaken.”  
 
  قَالَ كَلَّا إِنَّ مَعِيَ رَبِّي سَيَهْدِينِ  (62
মূসা বলল, কখনই নয়, আমার সাথে আছেন আমার পালনকর্তা। তিনি আমাকে পথ বলে দেবেন।  
[Mûsa (Moses)] said: ”Nay, verily! With me is my Lord, He will guide me.”  
 
  فَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَى مُوسَى أَنِ اضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ الْبَحْرَ فَانفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍ كَالطَّوْدِ الْعَظِيمِ  (63
অতঃপর আমি মূসাকে আদেশ করলাম, তোমার লাঠি দ্বারা সমূদ্রকে আঘাত কর। ফলে, তা বিদীর্ণ হয়ে গেল এবং প্রত্যেক ভাগ বিশাল পর্বতসদৃশ হয়ে গেল।  
Then We inspired Mûsa (Moses) (saying): ”Strike the sea with your stick.” And it parted, and each separate part (of that sea water) became like the huge, firm mass of a mountain.  
 
  وَأَزْلَفْنَا ثَمَّ الْآخَرِينَ  (64
আমি সেথায় অপর দলকে পৌঁছিয়ে দিলাম।  
Then We brought near the others [Fir’aun’s (Pharaoh) party] to that place.  
 
  وَأَنجَيْنَا مُوسَى وَمَن مَّعَهُ أَجْمَعِينَ  (65
এবং মূসা ও তাঁর সংগীদের সবাইকে বাঁচিয়ে দিলাম।  
And We saved Mûsa (Moses) and all those with him.  
 
  ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا الْآخَرِينَ  (66
অতঃপর অপর দলটিকে নিমজ্জত কললাম।  
Then We drowned the others.  
 
  إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ  (67
নিশ্চয় এতে একটি নিদর্শন আছে এবং তাদের অধিকাংশই বিশ্বাসী ছিল না।  
Verily! In this is indeed a sign (or a proof), yet most of them are not believers.  
 
  وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ  (68
আপনার পালনকর্তা অবশ্যই পরাক্রমশালী, পরম দয়ালু।  
And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful.  
 
  وَاتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ  (69
আর তাদেরকে ইব্রাহীমের বৃত্তান্ত শুনিয়ে দিন।  
And recite to them the story of Ibrâhim (Abraham).  
 
  إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ  (70
যখন তাঁর পিতাকে এবং তাঁর সম্প্রদায়কে বললেন, তোমরা কিসের এবাদত কর?  
When he said to his father and his people: ”What do you worship?”  
 
  قَالُوا نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَامًا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَاكِفِينَ  (71
তারা বলল, আমরা প্রতিমার পূজা করি এবং সারাদিন এদেরকেই নিষ্ঠার সাথে আঁকড়ে থাকি।  
They said: ”We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted.”  
 
  قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ إِذْ تَدْعُونَ  (72
ইব্রাহীম (আঃ) বললেন, তোমরা যখন আহবান কর, তখন তারা শোনে কি?  
He said: ”Do they hear you, when you call (on them)?  
 
  أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ  (73
অথবা তারা কি তোমাদের উপকার কিংবা ক্ষতি করতে পারে?  
”Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?”  
 
  قَالُوا بَلْ وَجَدْنَا آبَاءنَا كَذَلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ  (74
তারা বললঃ না, তবে আমরা আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদেরকে পেয়েছি, তারা এরূপই করত।  
They said: ”Nay, but we found our fathers doing so.”  
 
  قَالَ أَفَرَأَيْتُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ  (75
ইব্রাহীম বললেন, তোমরা কি তাদের সম্পর্কে ভেবে দেখেছ, যাদের পূজা করে আসছ।  
He said: ”Do you observe that which you have been worshipping,  
 
  أَنتُمْ وَآبَاؤُكُمُ الْأَقْدَمُونَ  (76
তোমরা এবং তোমাদের পূর্ববর্তী পিতৃপুরুষেরা ?  
”You and your ancient fathers?  
 
  فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّ لِّي إِلَّا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ  (77
বিশ্বপালনকর্তা ব্যতীত তারা সবাই আমার শত্রু।  
”Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the ’Alamîn (mankind, jinns and all that exists);  
 
  الَّذِي خَلَقَنِي فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ  (78
যিনি আমাকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন, অতঃপর তিনিই আমাকে পথপ্রদর্শন করেন,  
”Who has created me, and it is He Who guides me;  
 
  وَالَّذِي هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِي وَيَسْقِينِ  (79
যিনি আমাকে আহার এবং পানীয় দান করেন,  
”And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink.  
 
  وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ  (80
যখন আমি রোগাক্রান্ত হই, তখন তিনিই আরোগ্য দান করেন।  
”And when I am ill, it is He who cures me;  
 
  وَالَّذِي يُمِيتُنِي ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِ  (81
যিনি আমার মৃত্যু ঘটাবেন, অতঃপর পুনর্জীবন দান করবেন।  
”And Who will cause me to die, and then will bring me to life (again);  
 
  وَالَّذِي أَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لِي خَطِيئَتِي يَوْمَ الدِّينِ  (82
আমি আশা করি তিনিই বিচারের দিনে আমার ক্রটি-বিচ্যুতি মাফ করবেন।  
”And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection),”  
 
  رَبِّ هَبْ لِي حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ  (83
হে আমার পালনকর্তা, আমাকে প্রজ্ঞা দান কর এবং আমাকে সৎকর্মশীলদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত কর  
My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous;  
 
  وَاجْعَل لِّي لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِي الْآخِرِينَ  (84
এবং আমাকে পরবর্তীদের মধ্যে সত্যভাষী কর।  
And grant me an honourable mention in later generations;  
 
  وَاجْعَلْنِي مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ النَّعِيمِ  (85
এবং আমাকে নেয়ামত উদ্যানের অধিকারীদের অন্তর্ভূক্ত কর।  
And make me one of the inheritors of the Paradise of Delight;  
 
  وَاغْفِرْ لِأَبِي إِنَّهُ كَانَ مِنَ الضَّالِّينَ  (86
এবং আমার পিতাকে ক্ষমা কর। সে তো পথভ্রষ্টদের অন্যতম।  
And forgive my father, verily he is of the erring;  
 
  وَلَا تُخْزِنِي يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ  (87
এবং পূনরুত্থান দিবসে আমাকে লাঞ্ছিত করো না,  
And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected;  
 
  يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ  (88
যে দিবসে ধন-সম্পদ ও সন্তান সন্ততি কোন উপকারে আসবে না;  
The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail,  
 
  إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى اللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ  (89
কিন্তু যে সুস্থ অন্তর নিয়ে আল্লাহর কাছে আসবে।  
Except him who brings to Allâh a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifâq (hypocrisy)].  
 
  وَأُزْلِفَتِ الْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ  (90
জান্নাত আল্লাহভীরুদের নিকটবর্তী করা হবে।  
And Paradise will be brought near to the Muttaqûn (pious - see V.2:2).  
 
  وَبُرِّزَتِ الْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ  (91
এবং বিপথগামীদের সামনে উম্মোচিত করা হবে জাহান্নাম।  
And the (Hell) Fire will be placed in full view of the erring.  
 
  وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ  (92
তাদেরকে বলা হবেঃ তারা কোথায়, তোমরা যাদের পূজা করতে।  
And it will be said to them: ”Where are those (the false gods whom you used to set up as rivals with Allâh) that you used to worship  
 
  مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ هَلْ يَنصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنتَصِرُونَ  (93
আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে? তারা কি তোমাদের সাহায্য করতে পারে, অথবা তারা প্রতিশোধ নিতে পারে?  
”Instead of Allâh? Can they help you or (even) help themselves?”  
 
  فَكُبْكِبُوا فِيهَا هُمْ وَالْغَاوُونَ  (94
অতঃপর তাদেরকে এবং পথভ্রষ্টদেরকে আধোমুখি করে নিক্ষেপ করা হবে জাহান্নামে।  
Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghâwûn (devils, and those who were in error).  
 
  وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ  (95
এবং ইবলীস বাহিনীর সকলকে।  
And the whole hosts of Iblîs (Satan) together.  
 
  قَالُوا وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ  (96
তারা তথায় কথা কাটাকাটিতে লিপ্ত হয়ে বলবেঃ  
They will say while contending therein,  
 
  تَاللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ  (97
আল্লাহর কসম, আমরা প্রকাশ্য বিভ্রান্তিতে লিপ্ত ছিলাম।  
By Allâh, we were truly in a manifest error,  
 
  إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ  (98
যখন আমরা তোমাদেরকে বিশ্ব-পালনকর্তার সমতুল্য গন্য করতাম।  
When We held you (false gods) as equals (in worship) with the Lord of the ’Alamîn (mankind, jinns and all that exists);  
 
  وَمَا أَضَلَّنَا إِلَّا الْمُجْرِمُونَ  (99
আমাদেরকে দুষ্টকর্মীরাই গোমরাহ করেছিল।  
And none has brought us into error except the Mujrimûn [Iblîs (Satan) and those of human beings who commit crimes, murderers, polytheists, oppressors, etc.].  
 
  فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَافِعِينَ  (100
অতএব আমাদের কোন সুপারিশকারী নেই।  
Now we have no intercessors,  
 
  وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍ  (101
এবং কোন সহৃদয় বন্ধু ও নেই।  
Nor a close friend (to help us).  
 
  فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ  (102
হায়, যদি কোনরুপে আমরা পৃথিবীতে প্রত্যাবর্তনের সুযোগ পেতাম, তবে আমরা বিশ্বাস স্থাপনকারী হয়ে যেতাম।  
(Alas!) If we only had a chance to return (to the world), we shall truly be among the believers!  
 
  إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ  (103
নিশ্চয়, এতে নিদর্শন আছে এবং তাদের অধিকাংশই বিশ্বাসী নয়।  
Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers.  
 
  وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ  (104
আপনার পালনকর্তা প্রবল পরাক্রমশালী, পরম দয়ালু।  
And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful.  
 
  كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ الْمُرْسَلِينَ  (105
নূহের সম্প্রদায় পয়গম্বরগণকে মিথ্যারোপ করেছে।  
The people of Nûh (Noah) belied the Messengers.  
 
  إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ  (106
যখন তাদের ভ্রাতা নূহ তাদেরকে বললেন, তোমাদের কি ভয় নেই?  
When their brother Nûh (Noah) said to them: ”Will you not fear Allâh and obey Him?  
 
  إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ  (107
আমি তোমাদের জন্য বিশ্বস্ত বার্তাবাহক।  
”I am a trustworthy Messenger to you.  
 
  فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ  (108
অতএব, তোমরা আল্লাহকে ভয় কর এবং আমার আনুগত্য কর।  
”So fear Allâh, keep your duty to Him, and obey me.  
 
  وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَى رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ  (109
আমি তোমাদের কাছে এর জন্য কোন প্রতিদান চাই না, আমার প্রতিদান তো বিশ্ব-পালনকর্তাই দেবেন।  
”No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islâmic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the ’Alamîn (mankind, jinns and all that exists).  
 
  فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ  (110
অতএব, তোমরা আল্লাহকে ভয় কর এবং আমার আনুগত্য কর।  
”So keep your duty to Allâh, fear Him and obey me.”  
 
  قَالُوا أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَاتَّبَعَكَ الْأَرْذَلُونَ  (111
তারা বলল, আমরা কি তোমাকে মেনে নেব যখন তোমার অনুসরণ করছে ইতরজনেরা?  
They said: ”Shall we believe in you, when the meanest (of the people) follow you?”  
 
  قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِي بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ  (112
নূহ বললেন, তারা কি কাজ করছে, তা জানা আমার কি দরকার?  
He said: ”And what knowledge have I of what they used to do?  
 
  إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلَّا عَلَى رَبِّي لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَ  (113
তাদের হিসাব নেয়া আমার পালনকর্তারই কাজ; যদি তোমরা বুঝতে!  
”Their account is only with my Lord, if you could (but) know.  
 
  وَمَا أَنَا بِطَارِدِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ  (114
আমি মুমিনগণকে তাড়িয়ে দেয়ার লোক নই।  
”And I am not going to drive away the believers.  
 
  إِنْ أَنَا إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ  (115
আমি তো শুধু একজন সুস্পষ্ট সতর্ককারী।  
I am only a plain warner.”  
 
  قَالُوا لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَا نُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمَرْجُومِينَ  (116
তারা বলল, হে নূহ যদি তুমি বিরত না হও, তবে তুমি নিশ্চিতই প্রস্তরাঘাতে নিহত হবে।  
They said: ”If you cease not, O Nûh (Noah)! You will surely be among those stoned (to death).”  
 
  قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِي كَذَّبُونِ  (117
নূহ বললেন, হে আমার পালনকর্তা, আমার সম্প্রদায় তো আমাকে মিথ্যাবাদী বলছে।  
He said: ”My Lord! Verily, my people have belied me.  
 
  فَافْتَحْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًا وَنَجِّنِي وَمَن مَّعِي مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ  (118
অতএব, আমার ও তাদের মধ্যে কোন ফয়সালা করে দিন এবং আমাকে ও আমার সংগী মুমিনগণকে রক্ষা করুন।  
Therefore judge You between me and them, and save me and those of the believers who are with me.”  
 
  فَأَنجَيْنَاهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُ فِي الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُونِ  (119
অতঃপর আমি তাঁকে ও তাঁর সঙ্গিগণকে বোঝাই করা নৌকায় রক্ষা করলাম।  
And We saved him and those with him in the laden ship.  
 
  ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ الْبَاقِينَ  (120
এরপর অবশিষ্ট সবাইকে নিমজ্জত করলাম।  
Then We drowned the rest (disbelievers) thereafter.  
 
  إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ  (121
নিশ্চয় এতে নিদর্শন আছে এবং তাদের অধিকাংশই বিশ্বাসী নয়।  
Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers.  
 
  وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ  (122
নিশ্চয় আপনার পালনকর্তা প্রবল পরাক্রমশালী, পরম দয়ালু।  
And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful.  
 
  كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ الْمُرْسَلِينَ  (123
আদ সম্প্রদায় পয়গম্বরগণকে মিথ্যাবাদী বলেছে।  
’Ad (people) belied the Messengers.  
 
  إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ  (124
তখন তাদের ভাই হুদ তাদেরকে বললেনঃ তোমাদের কি ভয় নেই?  
When their brother Hûd said to them: ”Will you not fear Allâh and obey Him?  
 
  إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ  (125
আমি তোমাদের বিশ্বস্ত রসূল।  
”Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you.  
 
  فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ  (126
অতএব, তোমরা আল্লাহকে ভয় কর এবং আমার আনুগত্য কর।  
”So fear Allâh, keep your duty to Him, and obey me.  
 
  وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَى رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ  (127
আমি তোমাদের কাছে এর জন্যে প্রতিদান চাই না। আমার প্রতিদান তো পালনকর্তা দেবেন।  
”No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islâmic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the ’Alamîn (mankind, jinns, and all that exists).  
 
  أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ آيَةً تَعْبَثُونَ  (128
তোমরা কি প্রতিটি উচ্চস্থানে অযথা নিদর্শন নির্মান করছ?  
”Do you build high palaces on every high place, while you do not live in them?  
 
  وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ  (129
এবং বড় বড় প্রাসাদ নির্মাণ করছ, যেন তোমরা চিরকাল থাকবে?  
”And do you get for yourselves palaces (fine buildings) as if you will live therein for ever.  
 
  وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ  (130
যখন তোমরা আঘাত হান, তখন জালেম ও নিষ্ঠুরের মত আঘাত হান।  
”And when you seize, seize you as tyrants?  
 
  فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ  (131
অতএব, আল্লাহকে ভয় কর এবং আমার অনুগত্য কর।  
”So fear Allâh, keep your duty to Him, and obey me.  
 
  وَاتَّقُوا الَّذِي أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ  (132
ভয় কর তাঁকে, যিনি তোমাদেরকে সেসব বস্তু দিয়েছেন, যা তোমরা জান।  
”And keep your duty to Him, fear Him Who has aided you with all (good things) that you know.  
 
  أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَامٍ وَبَنِينَ  (133
তোমাদেরকে দিয়েছেন চতুষ্পদ জন্তু ও পুত্র-সন্তান,  
”He has aided you with cattle and children.  
 
  وَجَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ  (134
এবং উদ্যান ও ঝরণা।  
”And gardens and springs.  
 
  إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ  (135
আমি তোমাদের জন্যে মহাদিবসের শাস্তি আশংকা করি।  
”Verily, I fear for you the torment of a Great Day.”  
 
  قَالُوا سَوَاء عَلَيْنَا أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ الْوَاعِظِينَ  (136
তারা বলল, তুমি উপদেশ দাও অথবা উপদেশ নাই দাও, উভয়ই আমাদের জন্যে সমান।  
They said: ”It is the same to us whether you preach or be not of those who preach.  
 
  إِنْ هَذَا إِلَّا خُلُقُ الْأَوَّلِينَ  (137
এসব কথাবার্তা পূর্ববর্তী লোকদের অভ্যাস বৈ নয়।  
”This is no other than the false-tales and religion of the ancients, [Tafsir At-Tabarî, Vol.19, Page 97]  
 
  وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ  (138
আমরা শাস্তিপ্রাপ্ত হব না।  
”And we are not going to be punished.”  
 
  فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَاهُمْ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ  (139
অতএব, তারা তাঁকে মিথ্যাবাদী বলতে লাগল এবং আমি তাদেরকে নিপাত করে দিলাম। এতে অবশ্যই নিদর্শন আছে; কিন্তু তাদের অধিকাংশই বিশ্বাসী নয়।  
So they belied him, and We destroyed them. Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers.  
 
  وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ  (140
এবং আপনার পালনকর্তা, তিনি তো প্রবল পরাক্রমশালী, পরম দয়ালু।  
And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful.  
 
  كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ الْمُرْسَلِينَ  (141
সামুদ সম্প্রদায় পয়গম্বরগণকে মিথ্যাবাদী বলেছে।  
Thamûd (people) belied the Messenger.  
 
  إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَالِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ  (142
যখন তাদের ভাই সালেহ, তাদেরকে বললেন, তোমরা কি ভয় কর না?  
When their brother Sâlih (Saleh) said to them: ”Will you not fear Allâh and obey Him?  
 
  إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ  (143
আমি তোমাদের বিশ্বস্ত পয়গম্বর।  
”I am a trustworthy Messenger to you.  
 
  فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ  (144
অতএব, আল্লাহকে ভয় কর এবং আমার আনুগত্য কর।  
”So fear Allâh, keep your duty to Him, and obey me.  
 
  وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَى رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ  (145
আমি এর জন্যে তোমাদের কাছে কোন প্রতিদান চাই না। আমার প্রতিদান তো বিশ্ব-পালনকর্তাই দেবেন।  
”No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islâmic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the ’Alamîn (mankind, jinns and all that exists).  
 
  أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِي مَا هَاهُنَا آمِنِينَ  (146
তোমাদেরকে কি এ জগতের ভোগ-বিলাসের মধ্যে নিরাপদে রেখে দেয়া হবে?  
”Will you be left secure in that which you have here?  
 
  فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ  (147
উদ্যানসমূহের মধ্যে এবং ঝরণাসমূহের মধ্যে ?  
”In gardens and springs.  
 
  وَزُرُوعٍ وَنَخْلٍ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌ  (148
শস্যক্ষেত্রের মধ্যে এবং মঞ্জুরিত খেজুর বাগানের মধ্যে ?  
And green crops (fields etc.) and date-palms with soft spadix.  
 
  وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا فَارِهِينَ  (149
তোমরা পাহাড় কেটে জাঁক জমকের গৃহ নির্মাণ করছ।  
”And you carve houses out of mountains with great skill.  
 
  فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ  (150
সুতরাং তোমরা আল্লাহকে ভয় কর এবং আমার অনুগত্য কর।  
”So fear Allâh, keep your duty to Him, and obey me.  
 
  وَلَا تُطِيعُوا أَمْرَ الْمُسْرِفِينَ  (151
এবং সীমালংঘনকারীদের আদেশ মান্য কর না;  
”And follow not the command of Al-Musrifûn [i.e. their chiefs, leaders who were polytheists, criminals and sinners],  
 
  الَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ  (152
যারা পৃথিবীতে অনর্থ সৃষ্টি করে এবং শান্তি স্থাপন করে না;  
”Who make mischief in the land, and reform not.”  
 
  قَالُوا إِنَّمَا أَنتَ مِنَ الْمُسَحَّرِينَ  (153
তারা বলল, তুমি তো জাদুগ্রস্থুরেদ একজন।  
They said: ”You are only of those bewitched!  
 
  مَا أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِآيَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ  (154
তুমি তো আমাদের মতই একজন মানুষ বৈ নও। সুতরাং যদি তুমি সত্যবাদী হও, তবে কোন নিদর্শন উপস্থিত কর।  
”You are but a human being like us. Then bring us a sign if you are of the truthful.”  
 
  قَالَ هَذِهِ نَاقَةٌ لَّهَا شِرْبٌ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ  (155
সালেহ বললেন এই উষ্ট্রী, এর জন্যে আছে পানি পানের পালা এবং তোমাদের জন্যে আছে পানি পানের পালা নির্দিষ্ট এক-এক দিনের।  
He said: ”Here is a she-camel; it has a right to drink (water), and you have a right to drink (water) (each) on a day, known.  
 
  وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ  (156
তোমরা একে কোন কষ্ট দিও না। তাহলে তোমাদেরকে মহাদিবসের আযাব পাকড়াও করবে।  
”And touch her not with harm, lest the torment of a Great Day seize you.”  
 
  فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا نَادِمِينَ  (157
তারা তাকে বধ করল ফলে, তারা অনুতপ্ত হয়ে গেল।  
But they killed her, and then they became regretful.  
 
  فَأَخَذَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ  (158
এরপর আযাব তাদেরকে পাকড়াও করল। নিশ্চয় এতে নিদর্শন আছে। কিন্তু তাদের অধিকাংশই বিশ্বাসী নয়।  
So the torment overtook them. Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers.  
 
  وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ  (159
আপনার পালনকর্তা প্রবল পরাক্রমশালী, পরম দয়ালু।  
And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful.  
 
  كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ الْمُرْسَلِينَ  (160
লূতের সম্প্রদায় পয়গম্বরগণকে মিথ্যাবাদী বলেছে।  
The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers.  
 
  إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ  (161
যখন তাদের ভাই লূত তাদেরকে বললেন, তোমরা কি ভয় কর না ?  
When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: ”Will you not fear Allâh and obey Him?  
 
  إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ  (162
আমি তোমাদের বিশ্বস্ত পয়গম্বর।  
”Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you.  
 
  فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ  (163
অতএব, তোমরা আল্লাহকে ভয় কর এবং আমার আনুগত্য কর।  
”So fear Allâh, keep your duty to Him, and obey me.  
 
  وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَى رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ  (164
আমি এর জন্যে তোমাদের কাছে কোন প্রতিদান চাই না। আমার প্রতিদান তো বিশ্ব-পালনকর্তা দেবেন।  
”No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islâmic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the ’Alamîn (mankind, jinns and all that exists).  
 
  أَتَأْتُونَ الذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ  (165
সারা জাহানের মানুষের মধ্যে তোমরাই কি পুরূষদের সাথে কুকর্ম কর?  
”Go you in unto the males of the ’Alamîn (mankind),  
 
  وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ مِنْ أَزْوَاجِكُم بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ  (166
এবং তোমাদের পালনকর্তা তোমাদের জন্যে যে স্ত্রীগনকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন, তাদেরকে বর্জন কর? বরং তোমরা সীমালঙ্ঘনকারী সম্প্রদায়।  
”And leave those whom Allâh has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!”  
 
  قَالُوا لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَا لُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمُخْرَجِينَ  (167
তারা বলল, হে লূত, তুমি যদি বিরত না হও, তবে অবশ্যই তোমাকে বহিস্কৃত করা হবে।  
They said: ”If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!”  
 
  قَالَ إِنِّي لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ الْقَالِينَ  (168
লূত বললেন, আমি তোমাদের এই কাজকে ঘৃণা করি।  
He said: ”I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy).  
 
  رَبِّ نَجِّنِي وَأَهْلِي مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ  (169
হে আমার পালনকর্তা, আমাকে এবং আমার পরিবারবর্গকে তারা যা করে, তা থেকে রক্ষা কর।  
”My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do.”  
 
  فَنَجَّيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ أَجْمَعِينَ  (170
অতঃপর আমি তাঁকে ও তাঁর পরিবারবর্গকে রক্ষা করলাম।  
So We saved him and his family, all,  
 
  إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِي الْغَابِرِينَ  (171
এক বৃদ্ধা ব্যতীত, সে ছিল ধ্বংস প্রাপ্তদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত।  
Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind.  
 
  ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا الْآخَرِينَ  (172
এরপর অন্যদেরকে নিপাত করলাম।  
Then afterward We destroyed the others.  
 
  وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا فَسَاء مَطَرُ الْمُنذَرِينَ  (173
তাদের উপর এক বিশেষ বৃষ্টি বর্ষণ করলাম। ভীতি-প্রদর্শিত দের জন্যে এই বৃষ্টি ছিল কত নিকৃষ্ট।  
And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned.  
 
  إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ  (174
নিশ্চয়ই এতে নিদর্শন রয়েছে; কিন্তু তাদের অধিকাংশই বিশ্বাসী নয়।  
Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers.  
 
  وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ  (175
নিশ্চয়ই আপনার পালনকর্তা প্রবল পরাক্রমশালী, পরম দয়ালু।  
And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful.  
 
  كَذَّبَ أَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ  (176
বনের অধিবাসীরা পয়গম্বরগণকে মিথ্যাবাদী বলেছে।  
The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers.  
 
  إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ  (177
যখন শো’আয়ব তাদের কে বললেন, তোমরা কি ভয় কর না?  
When Shu’âib (Shuaib) said to them: ”Will you not fear Allâh (and obey Him)?  
 
  إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ  (178
আমি তোমাদের বিশ্বস্ত পয়গম্বর।  
”I am a trustworthy Messenger to you.  
 
  فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ  (179
অতএব, তোমরা আল্লাহকে ভয় কর এবং আমার আনুগত্য কর।  
”So fear Allâh, keep your duty to Him, and obey me.  
 
  وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَى رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ  (180
আমি তোমাদের কাছে এর জন্য কোন প্রতিদান চাই না। আমার প্রতিদান তো বিশ্ব-পালনকর্তাই দেবেন।  
”No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islâmic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the ’Alamîn (mankind, jinns and all that exists).  
 
  أَوْفُوا الْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا مِنَ الْمُخْسِرِينَ  (181
মাপ পূর্ণ কর এবং যারা পরিমাপে কম দেয়, তাদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়ো না।  
”Give full measure, and cause no loss (to others).  
 
  وَزِنُوا بِالْقِسْطَاسِ الْمُسْتَقِيمِ  (182
সোজা দাঁড়ি-পাল্লায় ওজন কর।  
”And weigh with the true and straight balance.  
 
  وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا النَّاسَ أَشْيَاءهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا فِي الْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ  (183
মানুষকে তাদের বস্তু কম দিও না এবং পৃথিবীতে অনর্থ সৃষ্টি করে ফিরো না।  
”And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land.  
 
  وَاتَّقُوا الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ وَالْجِبِلَّةَ الْأَوَّلِينَ  (184
ভয় কর তাঁকে, যিনি তোমাদেরকে এবং তোমাদের পূর্ববর্তী লোক-সম্প্রদায়কে সৃষ্টি করেছেন।  
”And fear Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old.”  
 
  قَالُوا إِنَّمَا أَنتَ مِنَ الْمُسَحَّرِينَ  (185
তারা বলল, তুমি তো জাদুগ্রস্তদের অন্যতম।  
They said: ”You are only one of those bewitched!  
 
  وَمَا أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ الْكَاذِبِينَ  (186
তুমি আমাদের মত মানুষ বৈ তো নও। আমাদের ধারণা-তুমি মিথ্যাবাদীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত।  
”You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars!  
 
  فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًا مِّنَ السَّمَاء إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ  (187
অতএব, যদি সত্যবাদী হও, তবে আকাশের কোন টুকরো আমাদের উপর ফেলে দাও।  
”So cause a piece of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!”  
 
  قَالَ رَبِّي أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ  (188
শো’আয়ব বললেন, তোমরা যা কর, সে সম্পর্কে আমার পালনকর্তা ভালরূপে অবহিত।  
He said: ”My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do.”  
 
  فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ الظُّلَّةِ إِنَّهُ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ  (189
অতঃপর তারা তাঁকে মিথ্যাবাদী বলে দিল। ফলে তাদেরকে মেঘাচ্ছন্ন দিবসের আযাব পাকড়াও করল। নিশ্চয় সেটা ছিল এক মহাদিবসের আযাব।  
But they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them, indeed that was the torment of a Great Day.  
 
  إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآيَةً وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ  (190
নিশ্চয় এতে নিদর্শন রয়েছে; কিন্তু তাদের অধিকাংশই বিশ্বাস করে না।  
Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers.  
 
  وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ  (191
নিশ্চয় আপনার পালনকর্তা প্রবল পরাক্রমশালী, পরম দয়ালু।  
And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful.  
 
  وَإِنَّهُ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ  (192
এই কোরআন তো বিশ্ব-জাহানের পালনকর্তার নিকট থেকে অবতীর্ণ।  
And truly, this (the Qur’ân) is a revelation from the Lord of the ’Alamîn (mankind, jinns and all that exists),  
 
  نَزَلَ بِهِ الرُّوحُ الْأَمِينُ  (193
বিশ্বস্ত ফেরেশতা একে নিয়ে অবতরণ করেছে।  
Which the trustworthy Rûh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] has brought down;  
 
  عَلَى قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُنذِرِينَ  (194
আপনার অন্তরে, যাতে আপনি ভীতি প্রদর্শণকারীদের অন্তর্ভুক্ত হন,  
Upon your heart (O Muhammad SAW) that you may be (one) of the warners,  
 
  بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِيٍّ مُّبِينٍ  (195
সুস্পষ্ট আরবী ভাষায়।  
In the plain Arabic language.  
 
  وَإِنَّهُ لَفِي زُبُرِ الْأَوَّلِينَ  (196
নিশ্চয় এর উল্লেখ আছে পূর্ববর্তী কিতাবসমূহে।  
And verily, it (the Qur’ân, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurât (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people.  
 
  أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ آيَةً أَن يَعْلَمَهُ عُلَمَاء بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ  (197
তাদের জন্যে এটা কি নিদর্শন নয় যে, বনী-ইসরাঈলের আলেমগণ এটা অবগত আছে?  
Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like ’Abdullâh bin Salâm ÑÖì who embraced Islâm) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)?  
 
  وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَاهُ عَلَى بَعْضِ الْأَعْجَمِينَ  (198
যদি আমি একে কোন ভিন্নভাষীর প্রতি অবতীর্ণ করতাম,  
And if We had revealed it (this Qur’ân) unto any of the non-Arabs,  
 
  فَقَرَأَهُ عَلَيْهِم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِ مُؤْمِنِينَ  (199
অতঃপর তিনি তা তাদের কাছে পাঠ করতেন, তবে তারা তাতে বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করত না।  
And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it.  
 
  كَذَلِكَ سَلَكْنَاهُ فِي قُلُوبِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ  (200
এমনিভাবে আমি গোনাহগারদের অন্তরে অবিশ্বাস সঞ্চার করেছি।  
Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Qur’ân) to enter the hearts of the Mûjrimûn (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.).  
 
  لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ حَتَّى يَرَوُا الْعَذَابَ الْأَلِيمَ  (201
তারা এর প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করবে না, যে পর্যন্ত প্রত্যক্ষ না করে মর্মন্তুদ আযাব।  
They will not believe in it until they see the painful torment;  
 
  فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ  (202
অতঃপর তা আকস্মিকভাবে তাদের কাছে এসে পড়বে, তারা তা বুঝতে ও পারবে না।  
It shall come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not;  
 
  فَيَقُولُوا هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ  (203
তখন তারা বলবে, আমরা কি অবকাশ পাব না?  
Then they will say: ”Can we be respited?”  
 
  أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ  (204
তারা কি আমার শাস্তি দ্রুত কামনা করে?  
Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on?  
 
  أَفَرَأَيْتَ إِن مَّتَّعْنَاهُمْ سِنِينَ  (205
আপনি ভেবে দেখুন তো, যদি আমি তাদেরকে বছরের পর বছর ভোগ-বিলাস করতে দেই,  
Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years,  
 
  ثُمَّ جَاءهُم مَّا كَانُوا يُوعَدُونَ  (206
অতঃপর যে বিষয়ে তাদেরকে ওয়াদা দেয়া হত, তা তাদের কাছে এসে পড়ে।  
And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised!
