Those who are faithfully true to their Amanât (all the duties which Allâh has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants;
وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَى صَلَوَاتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ
(9
এবং যারা তাদের নামাযসমূহের খবর রাখে।
And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawât (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours).
And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth).
ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَاهُ نُطْفَةً فِي قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ

অতঃপর আমি তাকে শুক্রবিন্দু রূপে এক সংরক্ষিত আধারে স্থাপন করেছি।
Thereafter We made him (the offspring of Adam) as a Nutfah (mixed drops of the male and female sexual discharge) (and lodged it) in a safe lodging (womb of the woman).
এরপর আমি শুক্রবিন্দুকে জমাট রক্তরূপে সৃষ্টি করেছি, অতঃপর জমাট রক্তকে মাংসপিন্ডে পরিণত করেছি, এরপর সেই মাংসপিন্ড থেকে অস্থি সৃষ্টি করেছি, অতঃপর অস্থিকে মাংস দ্বারা আবৃত করেছি, অবশেষে তাকে নতুন রূপে দাঁড় করিয়েছি। নিপুণতম সৃষ্টিকর্তা আল্লাহ কত কল্যাণময়।
Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allâh, the Best of creators.
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ لَمَيِّتُونَ
(15
এরপর তোমরা মৃত্যুবরণ করবে
After that, surely, you will die.
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ تُبْعَثُونَ
(16
অতঃপর কেয়ামতের দিন তোমরা পুনরুত্থিত হবে।
Then (again), surely, you will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection.
এবং তোমাদের জন্যে চতুস্পদ জন্তু সমূহের মধ্যে চিন্তা করার বিষয় রয়েছে। আমি তোমাদেরকে তাদের উদরস্থিত বস্তু থেকে পান করাই এবং তোমাদের জন্যে তাদের মধ্যে প্রচুর উপকারিতা আছে। তোমরা তাদের কতককে ভক্ষণ কর।
And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat.
وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى الْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُونَ
(22
তাদের পিঠে ও জলযানে তোমরা আরোহণ করে চলাফেরা করে থাক।
আমি নূহকে তার সম্প্রদায়ের কাছে প্রেরণ করেছিলাম। সে বলেছিলঃ হে আমার সম্প্রদায়, তোমরা আল্লাহর বন্দেগী কর। তিনি ব্যতীত তোমাদের কোন মাবুদ নেই। তোমরা কি ভয় কর না।
And indeed We sent Nûh (Noah) to his people, and he said: ”O my people! Worship Allâh! You have no other Ilâh (God) but Him (Islâmic Monotheism). Will you not then be afraid (of Him i.e. of His Punishment because of worshipping others besides Him)?”
তখন তার সম্প্রদায়ের কাফের-প্রধানরা বলেছিলঃ এ তো তোমাদের মতই একজন মানুষ বৈ নয়। সে তোমাদের উপর নেতৃত্ব করতে চায়। আল্লাহ ইচ্ছা করলে ফেরেশতাই নাযিল করতেন। আমরা আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের মধ্যে এরূপ কথা শুনিনি।
But the chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people said: ”He is no more than a human being like you, he seeks to make himself superior to you. Had Allâh willed, He surely could have sent down angels; never did we hear such a thing among our fathers of old.
অতঃপর আমি তার কাছে আদেশ প্রেরণ করলাম যে, তুমি আমার দৃষ্টির সামনে এবং আমার নির্দেশে নৌকা তৈরী কর। এরপর যখন আমার আদেশ আসে এবং চুল্লী প্লাবিত হয়, তখন নৌকায় তুলে নাও, প্রত্যেক জীবের এক এক জোড়া এবং তোমার পরিবারবর্গকে, তাদের মধ্যে যাদের বিপক্ষে পূর্বে সিদ্ধান্ত নেয়া হয়েছে তাদের ছাড়া। এবং তুমি জালেমদের সম্পর্কে আমাকে কিছু বলো না। নিশ্চয় তারা নিমজ্জত হবে।
So We inspired him (saying): ”Construct the ship under Our Eyes and under Our Revelation (guidance). Then, when Our Command comes, and the oven gushes forth water, take on board of each kind two (male and female), and your family, except those thereof against whom the Word has already gone forth. And address Me not in favour of those who have done wrong. Verily, they are to be drowned.
যখন তুমি ও তোমার সঙ্গীরা নৌকায় আরোহণ করবে, তখন বলঃ আল্লাহর শোকর, যিনি আমাদেরকে জালেম সম্প্রদায়ের কবল থেকে উদ্ধার করেছেন।
And when you have embarked on the ship, you and whoever is with you, then say: ”All the praises and thanks be to Allâh, Who has saved us from the people who are Zâlimûn (i.e. oppressors, wrong-doers, polytheists, those who join others in worship with Allâh, etc.).
Verily, in this [what We did as regards drowning of the people of Nûh (Noah)], there are indeed Ayât (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc. for men to understand), for sure We are ever putting (men) to the test.
ثُمَّ أَنشَأْنَا مِن بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا آخَرِينَ
(31
অতঃপর অন্য এক সম্প্রদায় আমি তার স্থলাভিষিক্ত করেছিলাম।
এবং তাদেরই একজনকে তাদের মধ্যে রসূলরূপে প্রেরণ করেছিলাম এই বলে যে, তোমরা আল্লাহর বন্দেগী কর। তিনি ব্যতীত তোমাদের অন্য কোন মাবুদ নেই। তবুও কি তোমরা ভয় করবে না?
And We sent to them a Messenger from among themselves (saying): ”Worship Allâh! You have no other Ilâh (God) but Him. Will you not then be afraid (of Him i.e. of His Punishment because of worshipping others besides Him)?”
তাঁর সম্প্রদায়ের প্রধানরা যারা কাফের ছিল, পরকালের সাক্ষাতকে মিথ্যা বলত এবং যাদেরকে আমি পার্থিব জীবনে সুখ-স্বাচ্ছন্দ্য দিয়েছিলাম, তারা বললঃ এতো আমাদের মতই একজন মানুষ বৈ নয়। তোমরা যা খাও, সেও তাই খায় এবং তোমরা যা পান কর, সেও তাই পান করে।
And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and to whom We had given the luxuries and comforts of this life, said: ”He is no more than a human being like you, he eats of that which you eat, and drinks of what you drink.
অতঃপর সত্য সত্যই এক ভয়ংকর শব্দ তাদেরকে হতচকিত করল এবং আমি তাদেরকে বাত্যা-তাড়িত আবর্জনা সদৃশ করে দিলাম। অতঃপর ধ্বংস হোক পাপী সম্প্রদায়।
So As-Saîhah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead plants. So away with the people who are Zâlimûn (polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh, disobedient to His Messengers, etc.).
এরপর আমি একাদিক্রমে আমার রসূল প্রেরণ করেছি। যখনই কোন উম্মতের কাছে তাঁর রসূল আগমন করেছেন, তখনই তারা তাঁকে মিথ্যাবাদী বলেছে। অতঃপর আমি তাদের একের পর এক ধ্বংস করেছি এবং তাদেরকে কাহিনীর বিষয়ে পরিণত করেছি। সুতরাং ধ্বংস হোক অবিশ্বাসীরা।
Then We sent Our Messengers in succession, every time there came to a nation their Messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another (to destruction), and We made them as Ahadîth (the true stories for mankind to learn a lesson from them). So away with a people who believe not.
অতঃপর আমি মূসা ও হারুণকে প্রেরণ করেছিলাম আমার নিদর্শনাবলী ও সুস্পষ্ট সনদসহ,
Then We sent Mûsa (Moses) and his brother Hârûn (Aaron), with Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and manifest authority,
ফেরআউন ও তার অমাত্যদের কাছে। অতঃপর তারা অহংকার করল এবং তারা উদ্ধত সম্প্রদায় ছিল।
To Fir’aun (Pharaoh) and his chiefs, but they behaved insolently and they were people self-exalting (by disobeying their Lord, and exalting themselves over and above the Messenger of Allâh).
হে রসূলগণ, পবিত্র বস্তু আহার করুন এবং সৎকাজ করুন। আপনারা যা করেন সে বিষয়ে আমি পরিজ্ঞাত।
O (you) Messengers! Eat of the Taiyibât [all kinds of Halâl (legal) foods which Allâh has made legal (meat of slaughtered eatable animals, milk products, fats, vegetables, fruits, etc.], and do righteous deeds. Verily! I am Well-Acquainted with what you do.
তাতে করে তাদেরকে দ্রুত মঙ্গলের দিকে নিয়ে যাচ্ছি? বরং তারা বোঝে না।
We hasten unto them with good things (in this worldly life so that they will have no share of good things in the Hereafter)? Nay, but they perceive not.
এবং যারা যা দান করবার, তা ভীত, কম্পিত হৃদয়ে এ কারণে দান করে যে, তারা তাদের পালনকর্তার কাছে প্রত্যাবর্তন করবে,
And those who give that (their charity) which they give (and also do other good deeds) with their hearts full of fear (whether their alms and charities, etc., have been accepted or not), because they are sure to return to their Lord (for reckoning).
তারাই কল্যাণ দ্রুত অর্জন করে এবং তারা তাতে অগ্রগামী।
It is these who race for the good deeds, and they are foremost in them [e.g. offering the compulsory Salât (prayers) in their (early) stated, fixed times and so on].
তোমাদেরকে আমার আয়াতসমূহ শোনানো হত, তখন তোমরা উল্টো পায়ে সরে পড়তে।
Indeed My Verses used to be recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels (denying them, and with hatred to listen to them).
مُسْتَكْبِرِينَ بِهِ سَامِرًا تَهْجُرُونَ
(67
অহংকার করে এ বিষয়ে অর্থহীন গল্প-গুজব করে যেতে।
In pride (they Quraish pagans and polytheists of Makkah used to feel proud that they are the dwellers of Makkah sanctuary Haram), talking evil about it (the Qur’ân) by night.
অতএব তারা কি এই কালাম সম্পêেক চিন্তা-ভাবনা করে না? না তাদের কাছে এমন কিছু এসেছে, যা তাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের কাছে আসেনি?
Have they not pondered over the Word (of Allâh, i.e. what is sent down to the Prophet SAW), or has there come to them what had not come to their fathers of old?
না তারা বলে যে, তিনি পাগল ? বরং তিনি তাদের কাছে সত্য নিয়ে আগমন করেছেন এবং তাদের অধিকাংশ সত্যকে অপছন্দ করে।
Or say they: ”There is madness in him?” Nay, but he brought them the truth [i.e. ”(A) Tauhîd: Worshipping Allâh Alone in all aspects (B) The Qur’ân (C) The religion of Islâm,”] but most of them (the disbelievers) are averse to the truth.
সত্য যদি তাদের কাছে কামনা-বাসনার অনুসারী হত, তবে নভোমন্ডল ও ভূমন্ডল এবং এগুলোর মধ্যবর্তêী সবকিছুই বিশৃঙ্খল হয়ে পড়ত। বরং আমি তাদেরকে দান করেছি উপদেশ, কিন্তু তারা তাদের উপদেশ অনুধাবন করে না।
And if the truth had been in accordance with their desires, verily, the heavens and the earth, and whosoever is therein would have been corrupted! Nay, We have brought them their reminder, but they turn away from their reminder.
না আপনি তাদের কাছে কোন প্রতিদান চান? আপনার পালনকর্তার প্রতিদান উত্তম এবং তিনিই রিযিকদাতা।
Or is it that you (O Muhammad SAW) ask them for some wages? But the recompense of your Lord is better, and He is the Best of those who give sustenance.
যদি আমি তাদের প্রতি দয়া করি এবং তাদের কষ্ট দূর করে দেই, তবুও তারা তাদের অবাধ্যতায় দিশেহারা হয়ে লেগে থাকবে।
And though We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, still they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering blindly.
Say: ”Who is (the) Lord of the seven heavens, and (the) Lord of the Great Throne?”
سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
(87
এখন তারা বলবেঃ আল্লাহ। বলুন, তবুও কি তোমরা ভয় করবে না?
They will say: ”Allâh.” Say: ”Will you not then fear Allâh (believe in His Oneness, obey Him, believe in the Resurrection and Recompense for each and every good or bad deed).”
বলুনঃ তোমাদের জানা থাকলে বল, কার হাতে সব বস্তুর কতৃর্êত্ব, যিনি রক্ষা করেন এবং যার কবল থেকে কেউ রক্ষা করতে পারে না ?
Say ”In Whose Hand is the sovereignty of everything (i.e. treasures of each and everything)? And He protects (all), while against Whom there is no protector, (i.e. if Allâh saves anyone none can punish or harm him, and if Allâh punishes or harms anyone none can save him), if you know.” [Tafsir Al-Qurtubî, Vol. 12, Page 145]
سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ قُلْ فَأَنَّى تُسْحَرُونَ
(89
এখন তারা বলবেঃ আল্লাহর। বলুনঃ তাহলে কোথা থেকে তোমাদেরকে জাদু করা হচ্ছে?
They will say: ”(All that belongs) to Allâh.” Say: ”How then are you deceived and turn away from the truth?”
আল্লাহ কোন সন্তান গ্রহণ করেননি এবং তাঁর সাথে কোন মাবুদ নেই। থাকলে প্রত্যেক মাবুদ নিজ নিজ সৃষ্টি নিয়ে চলে যেত এবং একজন অন্যজনের উপর প্রবল হয়ে যেত। তারা যা বলে, তা থেকে আল্লাহ পবিত্র।
No son (or offspring or children) did Allâh beget, nor is there any ilâh (god) along with Him; (if there had been many gods), behold, each god would have taken away what he had created, and some would have tried to overcome others! Glorified be Allâh above all that they attribute to Him!
যাতে আমি সৎকর্ম করতে পারি, যা আমি করিনি। কখনই নয়, এ তো তার একটি কথার কথা মাত্র। তাদের সামনে পর্দা আছে পুনরুত্থান দিবস পর্যন্ত।
”So that I may do good in that which I have left behind!” No! It is but a word that he speaks, and behind them is Barzakh (a barrier) until the Day when they will be resurrected.
হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা! এ থেকে আমাদেরকে উদ্ধার কর; আমরা যদি পুনরায় তা করি, তবে আমরা গোনাহগার হব।
”Our Lord! Bring us out of this; if ever we return (to evil), then indeed we shall be Zâlimûn: (polytheists, oppressors, unjust, and wrong-doers, etc.).”
قَالَ اخْسَؤُوا فِيهَا وَلَا تُكَلِّمُونِ
(108
আল্লাহ বলবেনঃ তোমরা ধিকৃত অবস্থায় এখানেই পড়ে থাক এবং আমার সাথে কোন কথা বলো না।
He (Allâh) will say: ”Remain you in it with ignominy! And speak you not to Me!”
আমার বান্দাদের একদলে বলতঃ হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা! আমরা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করেছি। অতএব তুমি আমাদেরকে ক্ষমা কর ও আমাদের প্রতি রহম কর। তুমি তো দয়ালুদের মধ্যে শ্রেষ্ঠ দয়ালু।
Verily! There was a party of My slaves, who used to say: ”Our Lord! We believe, so forgive us, and have mercy on us, for You are the Best of all who show mercy!”
যে কেউ আল্লাহর সাথে অন্য উপাস্যকে ডাকে, তার কাছে যার সনদ নেই, তার হিসাব তার পালণকর্তার কাছে আছে। নিশ্চয় কাফেররা সফলকাম হবে না।
And whoever invokes (or worships), besides Allâh, any other ilâh (god), of whom he has no proof, then his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely! Al-Kâfirûn (the disbelievers in Allâh and in the Oneness of Allâh, polytheists, pagans, idolaters, etc.) will not be successful.
